Hundebekleidung wird exklusiv auf die Bedürfnisse unserer Hunde entwickelt. Dabei wird besonderer Wert auf den Tragekomfort, die Atmungsaktivität, die Fellschonung, die Verträglichkeit und auf die Robustheit des Stoffes gelegt. Gerade Hunderassen mit einem dünnen oder keinem Unterfell bieten sie den optimalen Kälte- und Nässeschutz. Sogar aus tiermedizinischer Sicht sind viele Produkte sinnvoll und nützlich wie z.B. nach Operationen, bei heilenden Verletzungen oder rheumatischen Erkrankungen. Weiterlesen.
Der Hundeschuh bieten einen hochwertigen Pfotenschutz für aktive Hunde z.B. beim Joggen, auf Reisen, Wandern, Klettern, im Schnee aber auch bei verletzten Pfoten. Den Hundeschuh sollte man am besten schon vorbeugend einsetzen, denn Asphalt und steinige Wege reißen oft die Pfoten auf und schmerzen deinen Hund. Ebenso schmerzhaft können im Winter Eis und gestreute Wege sein oder heißer Sand am Strand. All dies strapaziert die empfindlichen Hundepfoten sehr.
Beim Kauf von Hundeschuhen solltest du immer auf atmungsaktives, gut verarbeitetes Material (keine störenden festen Nähte im Innenbereich) achten. Sie müssen gut und sicher sitzen und dürfen beim Laufen auf keinen Fall rutschen. Die Sohle sollte ein starkes, abriebfestes Profil gegen Wegrutschen besitzen, dass zugleich weich und biegsam für einen optimalen Gang ist.
Gemessen wird der Hundeschuh, indem du die Hundepfote auf ein Blatt Papier stellst und eng den Pfotenumriss nachzeichnest. Dein Hund muss dabei geradestehen und bei den Vorderpfoten empfiehlt es sich die Gegenpfote hoch zu nehmen, da sich die Krallen an den Vorderpfoten beim Laufen spreizen. Die breiteste Stelle der Hundepfote ist entscheidend für die Hundeschuhgröße, diese kannst du nun mit einem Zentimetermaß gut abmessen.
Der Hundemantel gibt Nässe und Kälte keine Chance mehr und hält die Hauptmuskelgruppen und den empfindlichen Brustkorb besonders im Nierenbereich warm und trocken. Der Hundemantel sollte immer leicht und schnell an- und auszuziehen sein und den Bauch deines Hundes umschließen.
Beim Material solltest du immer darauf achten, wo du den Hundemantel einsetzen möchtest und was für ein Fell dein Hund hat. Besonders Hunde ohne oder nur mit einer dünnen Unterwolle benötigen einen Hundemantel mit einem warmen Innenfutter z.B. aus Fleece und Watte. Bei Hunden mit dickem Fell und Unterwolle reicht ein dünner Hundemantel / Regenmantel vollkommen aus, um bei langen Spaziergängen im Regen deinen Hund trocken und warm zu halten und diesen vor Erkältungskrankheiten oder Nierenentzündungen zu schützen.
Wichtig ist außerdem, dass die Bewegungsfreiheit deines Hundes nicht eingeschränkt wird. Daher solltest du immer auf ausreichend platz im Achselbereich achten, um schmerzhafte Scheuerstellen zu vermeiden.

- Hunde mit Rücken- und Nierenproblemen
- kleine Hunde sind im Winter mit ihrem Bauch näher am frostigen Boden und frieren leichter.

Ma Huang

What is Ma Huang?
The 3 species of this shrubby plant that are sources of the drug are native to China, where the aboveground parts are collected in the fall and dried for drug use. The root of E. sinica or E. intermedia is known as ma huang gen and is considered to be a distinct drug, used for its anti-soporific (anti-sleep) properties.
What is it used for?
Ma huang is one of the earliest and best known drugs of Chinese traditional medicine, referenced in the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing, one of the foundation books of Chinese medicine (about 100 AD). It was and still is used to induce perspiration and to treat the symptoms of bronchial asthma, colds, and influenza.
Chemical investigations of ephedra in the early 20th century resulted in the isolation of the alkaloids ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, which were identified as the major pharmacologically active compounds in the aboveground portions of the plant.
While asthma treatment is one of the classical clinical uses for pure ephedrine as a pharmaceutical drug, dietary supplements promote ephedra as the herb for weight loss and increasing athletic performance. Ephedra has been a major component of herbal supplements for weight loss and athletic performance, often with caffeine also added. However, many manufacturers have recently reformulated products to remove ephedra because of legal liability questions. Because of its potential serious side effects, its use is not recommended.
What is the recommended dosage?
Current guidelines suggest limiting dosage of ephedrine to less than 90 mg/day. Medical supervision may be the most appropriate mode for safe administration of ma huang.
How safe is it?
Ma huang is contraindicated with MAO inhibitors.
Documented adverse effects. Avoid use. Ma huang contains ephedrine and related alkaloids, increases blood pressure, heart rate and causes CNS activity, as well as stimulates uterine muscle. Women who are pregnant should exercise particular caution.

Ephedra use has been linked to cardiovascular adverse effects, including hypertension, stroke, and MI. Patients with hyperthyroidism, benign prostatic hyperplasia, glaucoma, diabetes mellitus, and seizures and women who are pregnant should exercise particular caution.
Life-threatening conditions and deaths have been reported. Many states in the US have banned its use.

Martina Hund-Mejean is chief financial officer for MasterCard. In this position, she is responsible for Corporate Controller, Tax, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Strategy, M&A, Financial Planning &Analysis, Treasury, Risk Management, Global Supply Chain, Business Unit Finance and Regional Finance.
Prior to joining MasterCard in 2007, Ms. Hund-Mejean served as senior vice president and treasurer of Tyco International Ltd. She joined Tyco in 2002 as part of its "new" management with responsibility for all areas of treasury, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. During her tenure with Tyco, she executed $6 billion in financings in order to address Tyco's 2002/2003 liquidity crisis. She also revamped the company's capital structure, including debt reduction and share repurchase programs; introduced a new banking infrastructure; implemented revised risk management processes; and was instrumental in streamlining Tyco's business portfolio, including the most recent separation of Tyco's Healthcare and Electronics businesses.
Prior to Tyco, she was senior vice president and treasurer of Lucent Technologies Inc. (now Alcatel-Lucent). In this position, her responsibilities included capital markets, corporate finance, banking, credit and risk management, and investor relations. From 1988 to 2000, Ms. Hund-Mejean held a series of finance positions of increasing responsibility at General Motors Corporation, both in the United States and the United Kingdom, including the assistant treasurer post. She began her corporate career as a credit analyst at Dow Chemical in Frankfurt, Germany.
Ms. Hund-Mejean has been named one of the "100 Most Influential People in Finance" by Treasury & Risk Management magazine on three occasions as well one of the "Most Powerful Women in Finance" by American Banker magazine for three consecutive years. She is a member of the board of directors of Prudential Financial, Inc., and a member of the Board of Trustees of The University of Virginia, Darden School Foundation. Ms. Hund-Mejean received a master's degree in economics from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a Master of Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
