Drontal ® Plus (praziquantel/pyrantel pamoate/febantel) Tablets

Drontal ® Plus is a broad spectrum tablet to treat tapeworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm infections in dogs and puppies that are at least 3 weeks of age and weigh at least 2 lbs. It treats tapeworm infections caused by Dipylidium caninum, Taenia pisiformis and Echinococcus granulosus and treats and controls tapeworm infections caused by Echinococcus multilocularis. It also treats roundworm infections caused by Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina, hookworm infections caused by Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala and whipworm infections caused by Trichuris vulpis.

The use of Baytril ® Otic in dogs with perforated tympanic membranes has not been evaluated. Therefore, the integrity of the tympanic membrane should be evaluated before administering this product. Eigenschaften / Wirkungen

Permethrin hat ausserdem ausgeprägte repellierende Eigenschaften. Die Hunde sind vor Zecken, Stechmücken und Flöhen geschützt, da diese abgewehrt werden und zugrunde gehen, meist bevor sie sich festbeissen oder stechen können. Flöhe werden getötet, bevor sie Eier legen können. Dadurch ist der Entwicklungszyklus unterbrochen.

Dosierung / Anwendung

Für Hunde über 40 kg KGW soll eine Kombination der oben erwähnten Produkte eingesetzt werden.

Zur Behandlung und Vorbeugung von Befall mit Flöhen (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis). Die am Hund befindlichen Flöhe werden innerhalb eines Tages nach Behandlung abgetötet. Eine einmalige Behandlung bietet vier Wochen lang Schutz vor erneutem Flohbefall. Das Arzneimittel kann im Rahmen einer Strategie zur Behandlung der allergischen Flohdermatitis angewandt werden. Eine Behandlung hat über 4 Wochen (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus) bzw. 3 Wochen (Dermacentor spp.) andauernde abtötende und repellierende Wirkung gegen Zecken. Es ist möglich, dass Zecken, die zum Zeitpunkt der Behandlung bereits am Hund vorhanden sind nicht innerhalb von 2 Tagen nach Behandlung getötet werden und dann angeheftet und sichtbar bleiben. Eine einmalige Behandlung bietet eine repellierende (die Blutmahlzeit verhindernde) Wirkung für zwei Wochen gegen Schmetterlingsmücken (Phlebotomus papatasi) oder drei Wochen (Phlebotomus perniciosus, Lutzomyia longipalis), zwei (Aedes aegypti) bzw. vier Wochen (Culex pipiens) gegen Stechmücken und vier Wochen gegen die Stechfliege (Stomoxys calcitrans = Wadenstecher). Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass die Parasiten Krankheiten, Borreliose, Rickettsiose, Ehrlichiose oder Leishmaniose, übertragen, wird dadurch stark vermindert, kann jedoch nicht ganz ausgeschlossen werden. Auf dem Hund befindliche Zecken sollten daher vor der Behandlung mit Advantix ad us. vet., Spot-on entfernt werden. Eine Umgebungsbehandlung mit geeigneten Produkten vergrössert den Therapieerfolg bei Flohbefall. Um die Möglichkeit eines Wiederbefalls durch Flöhe zu verringern, wird empfohlen, alle Hunde eines Haushaltes zu behandeln. Auch andere im gleichen Haushalt lebende Tiere sollten mit geeigneten Tierarzneimitteln behandelt werden.

Zur Behandlung eines Befalls mit Haarlingen (Trichodectes canis) genügt eine Anwendung.

Es wird empfohlen nach 30 Tagen eine Kontrolle durch den Tierarzt vornehmen zu lassen, da manche Tiere eine zweite Behandlung benötigen.

Die Tiere sollen aber nicht häufiger als einmal wöchentlich behandelt werden.

Am stehenden Hund das Fell zwischen den Schulterblättern teilen, bis die Haut sichtbar wird. Spitze der Pipette auf die Haut aufsetzen und den Inhalt durch mehrmaliges Drücken auf die Pipette auf die Haut auftragen.

Hinweis für Hunde über 10 kg Körpergewicht

Für Hunde über 10 kg Körpergewicht sollte der gesamte Inhalt einer Advantix Pipette gleichmässig auf vier Punkte über der Rückenlinie des Hundes, von der Schulter bis zum Schwanzansatz, verteilt werden. An jedem dieser Punkte das Fell so weit auseinander teilen, bis die Haut sichtbar wird. Die Spitze der Pipette auf die Haut aufsetzen und leicht drücken, um einen Teil der Lösung direkt auf die Haut aufzutropfen. Um zu vermeiden, dass Lösung an der Seite des Tieres herunterläuft, sollte die verabreichte Lösungsmenge pro Auftragungsstelle nicht zu gross gewählt werden. Nur auf unversehrte Haut aufbringen.

Anwendungseinschränkungen

Kontraindikationen

Nie bei Katzen anwenden!

Wird eine Katze irrtümlich behandelt, muss darauf geachtet werden, dass die Katze die Applikationsstelle nicht ableckt und sofort der Tierarzt aufgesucht wird.

Vorsichtsmassnahmen

Nur auf gesunde Haut auftragen.

Kontakt mit der Haut, den Augen und dem Mund von Mensch und Tier vermeiden. Hände nach Gebrauch waschen.

Unerwünschte Wirkungen

Eine korrekte Applikation vermindert die Gefahr, dass der Hund das Produkt ableckt. Neurologische Symptome wie Zittern oder Teilnahmslosigkeit können in einzelnen Fällen auftreten. Da kein spezifisches Antidot existiert, ist nur eine rein symptomatische Behandlung möglich.

Sonstige Hinweise

Nach der Applikation Hände gut reinigen.

Bei irrtümlichem Hautkontakt mit dem Inhalt soll die Haut mit Seife und Wasser unverzüglich gewaschen werden. Augen mit viel Wasser ausspülen. Bleiben Irritationen auf der Haut oder im Auge bestehen, oder ist das Produkt geschluckt worden, soll ein Arzt aufgesucht werden.

Permethrin ist giftig für Amphibien, Reptilien, Fische und Bienen.

Leere Pipetten vernichten.

Nur für die äusserliche Anwendung bei Hunden.

Haltbarkeit nach Öffnen des Alubeutels: 18 Monate oder maximal bis zum Verfallsdatum.

Lagerung bei Raumtemperatur (15 - 25°C).

Für Kinder unzugänglich aufbewahren.

Das Lösungsmittel in Advantix ® Spot-on kann bestimmte Materialien wie Leder, Stoffe, Kunststoffe und polierte Oberflächen angreifen. Kontakt noch nicht abgetrockneter Anwendungsstellen mit solchen Materialien vermeiden.

Nach dem aufgedruckten Datum nicht mehr verwenden.
